Health insurance dependent eligibility surveys

Each year, the Association conducts health insurance dependent eligibility surveys pursuant to the Health Insurance Act and instructions from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

The purpose of these surveys is to ensure the fairness and appropriateness of the health insurance system. We ask for your cooperation in these efforts.

  • Article 50 of the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Health Insurance Act: “A health insurance society may, as of a specific date each year, conduct an eligibility survey or renewal of health insurance cards.”
  • Notice No. 1029004 issued by the Director of the Health Insurance Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare: “An eligibility survey of health insurance cards shall be conducted each year in order to ensure the appropriateness of insurance benefits.”
  • Notice No. 1029005 issued by the Manager of the Employees’ Health Insurance Division of the Health Insurance Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare: “During the eligibility survey or renewal of health insurance cards, the eligibility of dependents shall be reconfirmed.”
